Nothing Is Wasted

Therapy for ADOLESCENT AND ADULT WOMEN IN WASHINGTON STATE

Whether you’re stuck in the darkness of addiction, anxiety, depression, or relational issues, the light can be found. I believe it . A wise professor once told me that the intolerable pain we experience is not necessarily what we experience, but the feeling that we are doing it alone. I know that life can feel heavy, you may feel burdened or beat down by the day to day trenches, maybe like you’re in chains. Our trauma blocks love but love and connection help heal our trauma. In a safe environment to explore your pain coupled with your willingness to change and desire for healing, every chain can break and the freedom you’ve been longing for can be found.

MEET KAIT

A therapist, a learner, a listener

I am Kaitlin Gath (formerly Celli) a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA, MC#61165620) and owner of Breakthrough Counseling Services PLLC. I am passionate about walking with individuals as they identify parts of their brokenness and move towards healing and wholeness. I am a firm-believer that all individuals are capable of learning, growing, and changing and I am honored to walk alongside you as you do so.

I too have been in the client seat, I have struggled with body image, codependency, anxiety, and the works. It’s easy to view therapists as always having our ducks in a row but we struggle too. I am not here to be your best friend or your boss but to be your ally and guide you to what you are seeking. You can change your life and I'll be your cheerleader the whole way through!

My Approach

I believe that healing happens both within our bodies and through relationships. Our bodies are our alarm systems and when something new, traumatic, or life-altering happens our bodies set off sounds that something is not right. You aren’t broken and you aren’t “too far gone,” as you may be feeling. I am here to help YOU re-calibrate your mind and body-state to safety, peace, and the life you’ve always dreamed of by guiding and encouraging you through every step. Throughout our therapeutic journey together, my goal is to provide a safe place for you to discover your own power and cheer for you as you reclaim a joyful and meaningful life through healing.

I have spent the last two years working as a trauma-focused therapist addressing bullying, complex trauma, disasters, domestic violence, early childhood trauma, medical trauma, physical abuse, and sexual abuse. The main goal was to reestablish safety, identify triggers, develop healthy coping mechanisms, decrease traumatic stress symptoms, and practice trauma processing. What was successful for these individuals could also be successful for you but there is no one size fits all for therapy.

I take an eclectic approach and tailor each treatment plan based on your needs. I draw from a number of approaches, many being evidence-based including Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Strengths-Based Therapy.
